<video:description><![CDATA[In this demonstration, Duocel&reg; foam is used to demonstrate how flame travel can be stopped and prevented from escaping a closed container. The porous nature of Duocel&reg; foam allows hot gasses to escape but because of the high surface area to volume ratio, the flame is quenched. The goal of a flame arrestor is to prevent flames from traveling to unwanted areas or where they may cause damage. Flame arrestors allow gasses to vent in such a way that does not create high-pressure regions that could lead to failure of the container.  

Common applications where flame arrestors are used are: 

-Turbine Jet Engines (Exhaust Systems) 
-Refineries &ndash; Pipelines and storage tanks
-Flammable Storage Containers 
-High Proof Distilleries
