How is carbon foam used in biomedical applications?
Duocel® carbon foam, while lightweight but incredibly strong, can be used to help support bone regeneration in the human body. ERG is able to make carbon foam with similar density to human bone, and machine it to any shape needed for bone replacement therapy. This process is called foam bone regeneration, and it’s exciting new technology.
Density can be controlled to match that of the bone being replaced.
